When and Where - Junior & Youth Section

Junior Band

The Beginner/Junior Band meets on Tuesdays  during term-time from 5.30 to 6.15.  We are always pleased to welcome new players and no experience is necessary.  Instruments can be provided, subject to availability, and our lessons are interesting and fun.  And you don’t have to be a youngster to join us and start playing.  So, all you adults who have always fancied playing brass, just come on down and have a go!

Youth Band

The Youth Band meets on Tuesday evenings during term-time, from 6.15 to 7.15.  This band is a stepping stone to the senior band and many members of the senior band have passed through our ranks.  New members are always welcome on any instrument.  You’ll need to have a grasp of the basics, but we cater for a wide range of ages and abilities.  Don’t worry about not being good enough, just come along and we’ll find a part that suits you.  Adults also welcome!

We make several public appearances during the year, including at the annual Greater Gwent Youth Band Festival where we have enjoyed sucess over many years.
